MG ZS EV got cheaper by Rs 2.30 Lakh, becomes worth every penny

MG ZS EV got a price drop of Rs 2.30 lakh, making it a "bang-for-the-buck" EV

MG ZS EV was launched in the year 2019 and since then, has been a hit as an electric vehicle (EV) in India. Serving as a good kickstart to the EV car market in India, the ZS EV also gave a boost to MG sales in the country. Now, MG Motors is celebrating its 100th anniversary by offering benefits to customers through discounts on the MG cars including the MG ZS EV. MG is offering discounts up to Rs 2.30 lakh. MG ZS EV is available in 3 variants that are Excite (base variant), Exclusive (mid variant) and Exclusive Pro (Top variant). Here is a look at how the 3 variants are now placed with the recent discounts.

Starting with the Excite (base variant), which was earlier priced at Rs 23.38 lakh, with a discount of Rs 50,000, the electric car is now priced at Rs 22.88 lakh. The Exclusive (mid-variant), earlier priced at Rs 27.30 lakh, now gets a discount of Rs 2.3 lakh, bringing its price down to Rs 25 lakh. The Exclusive variant is thus, on offer with the maximum discount in the entire line-up. The top variant – Exclusive Pro – is on offer with a maximum discount of Rs 2 lakh, bringing its final price to Rs 25.90 lakh.

At the new price points, the MG ZS EV can be considered a very practical EV as it provides many user-focused and entertaining features for convenience. Similarly, for safety, the MG ZS EV is offered with the ADAS units to avoid collisions, ABS and EBD, hill descent control, Six airbags and Electric Stability Control to avoid the disbalance of the car. A 10.1-inch infotainment cluster, a 7-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and a wireless charging pad are some of the other user-friendly features available in the MG ZS EV.

As for performance, the MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3kWh battery pack which is mated to a magnet synchronous motor that produces 177hp and a crazy wheel spinning 280nm of maximum torque. This 50.3kWh battery juices out up to 461km of maximum range. From a standard 7.4kW charger the car takes up to 9 hours for charging from 0 to 100 per cent. With the 1fast 50kW DC charger the car takes 1hr to charge from 0 to 80 per cent.

If compared with the competition, the Hyundai Kona Electric is the only car that comes closer to the MG ZS EV. But in terms of the specifications, battery pack, range and power, coupled with the recent discounts, the MG ZS EV is a seemingly better option for the time being.
