BMW, the German auto giant, has launched iX xDrive50, the latest flagship model of its electric SUV lineup, in India. The new e-SUV comes with a price tag of Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom), exceeding its sibling, the iX xDrive40, priced at Rs 1.21 crore (ex-showroom). Moreover, BMW will bring the iX xDrive50 to India as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU).
The newly launched iX variant offers an extended range, upgraded performance, and various extra features. Furthermore, you can now book this model at any authorized dealership.
The German automaker launched the iX SUV in the country in 2021. But now, in 2024, BMW has introduced a more powerful xDrive50 to make the car more appealing to enthusiasts.
BMW iX xDrive50: Power and Range
The BMW iX xDrive50 comes with a 111.5kWh battery pack, which allows the car to achieve a WLTP-certified range of 635km. Additionally, with its dual-motor all-wheel drive system, the new variant can generate an impressive 516bhp and 765Nm of torque. Also, with a top speed of 200km/h, the new iX can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
On the other hand, iX xDrive40 features a 76.6kWh battery and dual motors that delivers 325bhp and 630Nm of torque. Moreover, the old variant offers a range of up to 414 km on a single charge.
BMW iX xDrive50: Design and Features
The design of the iX xDrive50 shares similarities with the iX xDrive40. It means you will still see the massive BMW kidney grille, bumper design, and slim LED headlights with twin-bar LED DRL. However, the xDrive50 comes with brand-new 22-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of interior, the new variant has a:

BMW iX xDrive50: Charging Capabilities
BMW states that it takes only 35 minutes with a 195kW DC charger and 97 minutes with a 50kW charger to replenish the battery from 10% to 80%. Moreover, a 22kW AC charger takes about 5.5 hours, and an 11kW charger requires 11 hours to charge the EV.
Customers will receive five years of roadside assistance and a two-year/unlimited-km warranty with the BMW iX xDrive50. Furthermore, you’ll enjoy an eight-year warranty or 160,000km coverage for the batteries.
The new iX xDrive50 has a price tag of Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom). Therefore, it will compete with the Mercedes Benz EQE SUV, Audi Q8 e-tron and Jaguar I-Pace in the Indian market.
