Simple Energy, an EV scooter manufacturer based in Bengaluru, has launched a new electric scooter. Named Simple Dot One, the electric two-wheeler has been priced at Rs 99,999 (ex. Showroom) for customers who have pre-booked the EV already. The EV will be launched for everyone through online bookings in January 2024 at a slight extra cost. The deliveries of this scooter will commence in Bangalore first.

Talking about the powertrain, the Simple Dot One EV comes with a 3.7kWh battery pack and is expected to return 151 km of certified range and 160 km in IDC. Furthermore, the EV is less differentiated in terms of looks from its older sibling the Simple One. The Simple Dot One stands on the same chassis as the Simple One.
In contrast, the Simple One is powered by a 5kWh battery pack which is mated to a single electric motor that produces 8.5kW of maximum power and can cruise with 4.5kW if continuous power output. Since this is an EV, the acceleration is quite good, it does 0-40kph in just under 3 seconds.
The scooter will be offered with CBS and Disc brakes for better stopping power, a telescopic suspension unit at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Moreover, the EV will be packed with features including a Touch-sensitive instrument cluster with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and SMS alerts. Aesthetically it will get all LED setup for less battery consumption. There are certainly good colour options that include the Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Azure Blue shades.
The Simple Dot One Competes with the OLA S1X, the OLA S1X is powered by a 2 and 3kWh battery, this scooter offers a maximum range of up to 151km and has a top speed of 90 kmph, the price of the OLA S1X is Rs 89,999.
