Skoda Auto has revealed the first glimpses of its upcoming Elroq, an all-electric compact SUV. This electric compact SUV shows the Czech automaker’s first step into adopting the Modern Solid design language. The simplistic outer appearance merges durability and practicality while imparting feelings of safety and robustness.
The global debut of the Elroq will be in the fall of 2024. It signals the start of Skoda’s fresh e-model initiative, featuring the introduction of six electric vehicle models in the near future.
Oliver Stefani, Head of Skoda Auto Design, said:
At Skoda, design is an important part of the brand identity and one of the main factors of our success. The continuous development of key visual elements is both a demanding and exciting task.
Skoda will incorporate the new Modern Solid design language, such as the Tech-Deck Face and a more robust overall look. Moreover, it is the first car in our portfolio to feature Skoda lettering on its sharply contoured bonnet. No doubt, our brand-new Elroq sets a new tone and is a real eye-catcher.
New front with Skoda Lettering and Tech-Deck Face
The front of the Elroq features a split headlight design as its defining characteristic. Moreover, the slimmer upper part smoothly extends into the wings.
Positioned on the hood, the Skoda lettering reflects the essence of the brand’s identity. The advanced Tech-Deck Face presents a modern and easily recognizable reinterpretation of the traditional Skoda grille, boasting a broader and flatter look.
Additionally, the car features sizable wheels that amplify its rugged appearance. Also, the advanced LED Matrix headlights add the finishing touch to the Elroq’s stunning aesthetics.
Innovative Design meets MEB Engineering
In line with the Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupé, the Elroq will mark Skoda’s third model based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform.
Concurrently, the electric variant of the Karoq will mark the beginning of the Czech carmaker’s new e-mobility initiative, which aims to introduce six battery-electric models over the next few years.
The upcoming compact SUV will boast a spacious interior and remarkable practicality, aligning with the brand’s dedication to comfort and usability. Furthermore, Skoda is planning to unveil the electric compact SUV Elroq globally this autumn.
