Fiat has unveiled the latest version of Grande Panda hatchback. It shares the same platform as the Euro-spec Citroen C3, known as the STLA Smart platform. The car has a boxy shape and features square and X-shaped design elements that make it stand out.
The Grande Panda is inspired by the classic Panda from the 1980s. It is Fiat’s first car in their new global lineup and aims to change the B-segment car market by offering a compact size with spacious cabins.
Furthermore, it is an eco-friendly vehicle that comes with electric and hybrid versions. Fiat plans to introduce a new car every year until 2027 as part of its expansion strategy.
Design Elements
Despite its grand name, the Grande Panda is actually quite small. It measures 3987mm in length. However, it is longer than the average size for its segment and 130mm longer than the Punch EV.
The front of the Grande Panda features an upright nose with a closed-off grille that smoothly integrates with the headlights, designed with a cube-like pattern. Additionally, the rectangular headlights include distinctive pixel-like lighting elements.
The daytime running lights (DRLs) create an X pattern. Below the grille, the bumper has a narrow air vent, and at the bottom, there’s a large rectangular air dam. The transition from the air dam into the bumper also features a cube-style pattern.
The fenders have noticeable flares that continue the squared-out design theme along the sides of the car. The word “Panda” is engraved on the metal of the doors, and an X pattern is also in the wheel design.
Mechanical Specs
The Grande Panda will use the Stellantis Smart Car platform, which it shares with the newly released Citroën ë-C3. Similar to the Citroën ë-C3, the Grande Panda will offer hybrid and electric powertrain options.
Fiat hasn’t officially announced any numbers, but the electric version will likely have a 44.0-kWh battery. Also, it will provide an estimated range of around 300km along with 113 horsepower. The hybrid model is expected to feature a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, similar to the Citroën ë-C3, along with an electric motor to provide additional power.

Fiat will share more details about the Grande Panda in the next few months. The car will most likely launch where Fiat has a stronghold, such as Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. However, there are no indications that Fiat will sell the Grande Panda in markets like India.
