Renowned luxury auto brand Jaguar India delisted the I-Pace from its website. Which means you can’t order this all-electric SUV anymore. Also, the automaker removed the F-Type sportscar from its lineup after ending global production last month. The brand only offers one model in the country—the Jaguar F Pace SUV.
About Jaguar I-Pace in India
Jaguar launched the I-Pace as its first and only electric vehicle in India. The I-Pace entered the market in 2021 as the second luxury electric SUV priced at Rs 1 crore, sparking interest in the segment. Moreover, the luxury EV SUV competed with the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC SUVs.
However, while its rivals received updates, the I-Pace remained the same during its three years on sale in India. Even though I-Pace is still available in other countries, it will be phased out soon. Rumors are that Jaguar will introduce new electric vehicles globally starting in 2025.
Other Details of I-Pace
Jaguar sold only 31 units of the I-Pace in FY2024. That’s far below the BMW iX, which led the segment with 738 units. Also, a 90kWh battery pack and two electric motors in the Jaguar I-Pace produced 400hp and 696Nm of torque. In real-world tests, city and highway driving, the I-Pace achieved around 410km of range.
Besides its attractive appearance, the I-Pace was one of the most enjoyable luxury electric vehicles. However, the car lagged behind its competitors in terms of space, practicality, and comfort. Also, many essential features were only available as optional extras despite the vehicle’s high price tag.
About Jaguar F-Type
The Jaguar introduced the F-Type in India in July 2013 as a convertible, initially offering V6 and V8 engines. The automaker launched the coupe version nearly a year later. In 2018, Jaguar added a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine option. Furthermore, the model received a facelift in 2020 during its mid-life cycle. However, after its removal, Jaguar F Pace SUV remains the only car available in India.
Upcoming Jaguar EVs in 2025
Starting from 2025, Jaguar plans to begin a new phase by launching a series of electric vehicles. The first one will be a four-seat GT car designed to compete with the Porsche Taycan. After that, the automaker will introduce a luxury SUV similar to the Bentley Bentayga.
Jaguar plans to construct these upcoming models on its new, specialized JEA platform, signaling a notable shift from its current lineup.
