Servotech Launched Delhi’s First Grid-connected Solar-powered EV Charging Carport

EV Carport provides fast charging for two and four-wheelers in under an hour

Servotech Power Systems Ltd., a prominent producer of EV chargers and solar solutions, launched Delhi’s inaugural grid-connected Solar-Powered EV Charging Carport. The manufacturer collaborated with India’s primary solar organization, the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) for this initiative.

This Solar-Powered EV Charging Carport was first tested at the Hauz Khas Village parking area. It marks a significant step in improving sustainable energy and electric vehicle infrastructure.

Servotech manufactured and installed the solar panels and EV chargers used in the carport. Also, they managed the design and construction of the carport’s infrastructure.

Dr Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, was the guest of honour at the ceremony. He officially inaugurated the solar-powered EV charging station. This project is a collaboration between the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and the Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V (BSW), with support from BSES and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The Solar-Powered EV Charging Carport was built as part of the KVP project. This initiative receives backing from Sequa GmbH, a German non-profit organization under the Business Membership Organization Partnerships of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The PV Carport introduces a new way of doing business for DISCOMs and business operators who want to switch from last-mile delivery vehicles to electric fleets. Moreover, it provides fast charging for two and four-wheelers in under an hour. This improves delivery efficiency in cities and small spaces.

On this occasion, Raman Bhatia, Founder and Managing director of Servotech Power Systems Ltd., Said:

The newly inaugurated solar carport exemplifies our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and enhance living conditions through sustainable technology. This initiative will prove to be beneficial in decarbonizing mobility and electricity through solar energy.

The growth of India’s solar and energy storage sectors across various fronts is dynamic. By integrating renewable energy solutions into our infrastructure, we will address current environmental challenges. Furthermore, pave the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.

Servotech, an NSE-listed organization, exemplifies innovation and is leading advancements in sustainable energy solutions.
