There is good news for people considering purchasing Toyota’s premium SUV – Innova. In July 2024, there is a slight decrease in the waiting periods for the Toyota Innova lineup. Depending on the variant, customers who book a Toyota Innova Hycross or Crysta in July 2024 can expect delivery in five to thirteen months.
The Uttar Pradesh government recently exempted a 100% registration fee for hybrid vehicles to boost sales. This initiative benefited manufacturers like Toyota Motor, selling Innova Hycross and Crysta. Thus, hybrid car buyers in Uttar Pradesh can enjoy savings due to this recent initiative.
Innova Hycross Waiting Period (July 2024)
In India, the Innova Hycross provides two choices for its powertrains:
- The base model provides 172hp, a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an automatic transmission.
- The premium version offers 184hp, a 2.0-litre petrol engine integrated with strong-hybrid technology.
The non-hybrid petrol versions now have a shorter waiting time of around four to five months, according to Autocar. However, the waiting period for the petrol-hybrid Innova Hycross remains at 13 months.
Bookings for the Innova Hycross ZX and ZX (O) are currently on hold. However, certain dealers are compiling a list of potential customers. That’s because, in case of cancellations, existing bookings will be reassigned to new purchasers.
The Innova Hycross hybrid version, priced from Rs 19.77 lakh to Rs 30.98 lakh (ex-showroom), has enjoyed popularity in India. Nevertheless, the demand for the non-hybrid Innova Hycross is the lowest. Therefore, Toyota is looking to introduce a high-end GX (O) variant for this engine type, equipped with extra features, to boost its sales.
Innova Crysta Waiting Period (July 2024)
The waiting period for the Toyota Innova Crysta has been officially reduced to approximately five months, compared to six months in June 2024. According to dealers, most orders are now fulfilled within around two months, depending on available stock.
The Innova Crysta offers a 150hp, 343Nm 2.4-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, its price ranges from Rs 19.99 lakh to Rs 26.55 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, it faces competition from compact MPVs such as the Ertiga, Kia Carens, and the Maruti XL6.
Toyota, the originator of the hybrid cars, is now considering launching its first electric SUV in India in the second half of 2025. Toyota will leverage its reputation for reliability and quality to compete with already established EV brands in India.
