Last week, Indian automaker Tata Motors revealed only the exterior design of its upcoming car – the Curvv SUV Coupe. However, a new teaser has offered a first look at the production-spec interior of the Curvv EV.
The Curvv EV will be released first and enter a new segment, and the version with a regular engine will come out a few weeks later. The EV variant has many interior parts, like controls and features, similar to the Nexon model.
Interior Heavily Borrowed from Nexon?
Firstly, the dashboard layout is the same as the Nexon’s. It features a floating touchscreen, probably the 12.3-inch screen available on the premium Nexon EV. Moreover, the trapezoidal air vents and a touch-based climate control panel are below the infotainment screen.
The vehicle boasts a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, which is also present in the Nexon. However, unlike the usual black trim on the Nexon, the dashboard trim on the Curvv is a silver textured pattern.
While the trailer didn’t reveal the centre console, it will likely be the same as the Nexon. Furthermore, it will continue to feature the rotary drive selector, gear lever, and a wireless charging pad. Also, expect the door panels to remain the same. Although not confirmed, the ICE Curvv variant will probably have a similar interior setup.
What is Unique about the Interior?
However, the unique feature of the Curvv EV is a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and a two-tone design, similar to the Harrier and Safari. The two lower buttons on the right side of the steering wheel are likely to attract attention.
The left button is probably for lane-keeping assist, and the one next to it is for setting a safe distance from the car in front, which works with adaptive cruise control. Also, the vehicle will likely include other ADAS features, such as blind spot detection, autonomous emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Wrapping Up
The teaser reveals the new Curvv EV making its way up the Sandakphu summit near the India-Nepal border. Also, the video confirms that the charging port will be at the front of the vehicle.
Reports indicate it could provide a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. But we will get to know the details about the powertrain on the launch date.
The Curvv EV, alongside the petrol and diesel variant, will debut in India on August 7. While there are no SUV coupes at the Curvv’s price level, which is likely around Rs 20 lakhs, it will rival models such as the Hyundai Creta, MG ZS EV, Volkswagen Taigun, and Kia Seltos in its segment.
