Tata Motors Teases New Engine: Get Ready for the Curvv’s Game-Changing Power

The new GDi engine in Tata Curvv will offer improved performance, efficiency, and eco-friendliness

The Tata Curvv, set to launch soon in electric and traditional engine variants, is nearing its official unveiling on August 7. The Indian automaker showed us quite a few glimpses of the Curvv in recent weeks.

Moreover, on July 19, Tata presented the production spec-variant of the Curvv. However, it only showcased the exterior design and not the interior or powertrain. And now, Tata Motors just released a new teaser, hinting at the introduction of an advanced petrol engine.

What’s confirmed is that HYPERION engine in the Tata Curvv will use the new Turbo Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) technology. This new engine will offer some great benefits, including:

Better Efficiency and More Power:

GDi injects fuel directly into the engine, making it burn more completely. It means you get higher fuel efficiency. Also, with TubroGDi, the engine can handle higher compression ratios, which boosts its power and torque, giving you a more spirited drive.

Lower Emissions:

By improving how fuel and air mix, GDi helps cut down on harmful emissions, making the engine more eco-friendly.

Enhanced Performance:

When GDi pairs with turbocharging, it makes the engine perform better, giving you a more responsive and exciting driving experience.

Overall, this engine technology marks a big step forward for Tata Motors, offering a mix of power, efficiency, and eco-friendliness.

The upcoming Curvv’s new TubroGDi petrol engine will likely deliver 123bhp and 225Nm torque. Also, expect the automaker to offer the engine with a six-speed MT or a seven-speed DCT. Earlier this year, Tata confirmed the diesel variant powered by a 1.5-litre engine generating 113bhp and 260Nm.
