What are the Changes in FASTag Rules?

One significant change is about the Know Your Customer (KYC) process. If your FASTag is five years old or more, you’ll need to replace it. So, check the issue date of your FASTag and visit the issuing authority to get a new one. Old FASTags will no longer work after tomorrow.

Moreover, you’ll need to renew your KYC details if your FASTag is at least three years old. You have until October 31 to complete this update. Update your KYC by the deadline to avoid blacklisting your FASTag and having it stop working. So, make sure to renew your KYC in time to keep your FASTag active!

There are some other important changes to FASTag rules starting August 1. Firstly, you’ll need to link your FASTag account to your vehicle and your phone number. Each FASTag must be used for only one vehicle, a rule that started in April.

Also, connect your FASTag to your vehicle’s registration number and chassis number. Upload photos of your vehicle’s front and side to finish this setup.

If you buy a new vehicle from August 1 onward, update the registration number on your FASTag within three months.
