Bridgestone India, Tata Power Collaborate for EV Charging Setup

Bridgestone India and Tata Power will provide DC fast charging to EVs through their new charging stations

The EV charging infrastructure is still in a nascent stage in India. The lack of proper EV charging stations is still the biggest factor for range anxiety associated with electric vehicles. To bring some improvements to the situation, tyre manufacturing company Bridgestone India has now collaborated with Tata Power. Under this partnership, Tata Power will provide 24×7 operational DC Fast Chargers at select tyre dealerships of Bridgestone for fast charging of EVs.

The fast chargers to be equipped by Bridgestone India will come with a power output of 25 to 30kWh. With this, the company promises to charge a 4-wheeler battery vehicle in under an hour through its chargers. The charging stations shall thus be able to serve 20 to 24 vehicles per day.

The first of these charging stations was inaugurated at Bridgestone’s Select Store Super Tyres at Shirur on the Pune – Ahmednagar road and is operational for all four-wheeler EVs. These charging stations have been set up by Tata Power for 24×7 charging support. Other facilities provided at the stations include remote vehicle charging monitoring and E-payments through the EZ Charge Mobile Application. The stations are equipped to serve all sorts of 4-wheeler electric vehicles, regardless of the brand.

“Our partnership with Bridgestone India exemplifies our dedication to facilitating the electric vehicle revolution by fostering innovation and collaboration,” Tata Power Head Business Development (EV charging), Virendra Goyal stated.

“At Bridgestone, being a globally trusted partner in the mobility space, we always endeavour to provide solutions for journeys. This joint initiative with Tata Power is a reflection of this commitment,” Bridgestone India Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Rajarshi Moitra stated.
