BYD Seal electric sedan received more than 200 bookings on the day of its launch

BYD India announced that its Seal EV has received more than 1,000 bookings in India. The booking process for the sedan commenced nearly three months ago, starting in late February 2024, with the sedan’s official launch in early March. BYD had previously stated reaching the milestone of 500 bookings around two months ago, in mid-March.

The BYD Seal is the third electric vehicle offered by the company in the Indian market, joining the e6 MPV and Atto 3 SUV. On the day of its release, the company received more than 200 bookings. And now, just over two months after its introduction, BYD announced that bookings for the Seal EV had surpassed 1,000 units in the country.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior VP of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, said:

We are confident that the BYD SEAL, with its award-winning technology, exceptional range, and unparalleled safety features, will be a game-changer in the Indian electric vehicle landscape.

The phenomenal response to the BYD SEAL, surpassing 1,000 bookings in just over two months, is a testament to the growing appetite for high-performance and stylish electric vehicles in the Indian market.

In the Indian market, the Seal stands without a direct competitor. And notably, the model is priced lower than its closest rival, the BMW i4, Rs. 72.50 – 77.50 Lakh (ex-showroom).
