Genesis Unveils the X Gran Racer Vision GT Concept: A Supercar You Can’t Buy

The hybrid powertrain of Genesis X Gran Racer Vision GT produces 1,519 hp and 1,427 Nm of torque

Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury brand, often teases car enthusiasts with exciting cars. It’s usually the car people want to get their hands on. However, the newly unveiled car from Genesis is not meant for purchase but only for the racing game. So, the only way to drive it is through playing a video game called Gran Turismo.

The new Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept is incredibly impressive. The company unveiled the concept car at the 2024 Busan Motor Show in South Korea. Noticeably, it seems to be an extreme version of the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept shown last year.

The Korean brand created a new concept, like the X Gran Berlinetta, as a design study. The best part is that these hypercar concepts will influence the design of future Genesis vehicles.

Exterior Design

If we talk about the design, you will notice carbon fiber canards and a more noticeable splitter at the front. Additionally, the fenders now feature vents, and the side skirts have undergone changes to fit a larger diffuser at the rear.

Also, the rear of the car includes a large rear wing with integrated LEDs and a central fin.  The signature paint color for high-performance Genesis models, called Magma, stands out against the exposed carbon fiber parts.

The design is completed with new center-lock wheels equipped with Michelin slick tires and aero discs at the front.

Technical Details

Now, let’s talk about the numbers. The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta’s electrified V6 engine generates 1,056 hp and 1,337 Nm of torque.

In contrast, the hybrid powertrain of the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision GT produces 1,519 hp and 1,427 Nm of torque. Well, these numbers are quite impressive for a car which we won’t see in the streets.

Also, an upgraded electric motor, producing 661 horsepower instead of the previous concept’s 198 horsepower, facilitated this increase in power. Moreover, the mid-mounted Lambda II V6 engine maintains its output of 858 horsepower with the assistance of an electronic supercharger.

Wrapping Up

Even with such impressive specifications, these numbers are not relevant because the car won’t exist in real life. However, if you want to drive the new X Gran Racer, watch out for its release in Gran Turismo soon.
