Powertrain and Battery

The E-GMP electric vehicle platform from Hyundai Motor Group serves as the foundation for EV3. The SUV makes use of the 4th generation of batteries from the company.

With a 58.3 kWh battery, the EV3 has a standard range of 350 km. However, with the larger 81.4 kWh battery, the Long-Range model offers an impressive range of 501km.

The EV3 compact SUV is available in a single front-wheel-mounted electric motor. However, it produces 283 Nm and 150 kW (200 horsepower). With this setup, the EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h.

Additionally, with a 350-kW fast charger, the charging of the base model from 10% to 80% takes 29 minutes. But it takes 31 minutes for the long-range variant.

Kia has added unique elements that improve airflow and boost range. Also, it has 17-inch aerodynamic wheels, an integrated active air flap in the bumper, a wheel gap reduction, and front and rear undercovers with a 3D curved design.
