Tata Power has become the first EV charging solutions provider to facilitate 10 crore (100 million) green km, including public, semi-public, bus/fleet, and home charger segments nationwide. It is a prominent integrated power company and electric vehicle charging solutions provider.
One of the officials stated, “This milestone achievement underscores Tata Power’s pivotal role in promoting sustainable mobility solutions nationwide.”
Moreover, India’s commitment to sustainable mobility and the government’s initiatives like FAME and the National Electric Mobility Mission reflect a drive towards e-mobility, aiming to achieve a 30% electric vehicle sales share by 2030.
Promoting Electric Mobility with Robust Charging Facility
Understanding the importance of strong EV charging infrastructure in the country, the company has extended its network, branded as EZ Charge. Also, this expansion comprises more than 86,000 home chargers, over 5,300 charging points for public, semi-public, and fleet use, and 850 bus charging stations spread across 530 cities and towns.
The company stationed these chargers strategically at diverse and convenient spots, including highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential complexes. Furthermore, their efforts have been instrumental in the adoption of electric mobility in India.
Amidst the rising demand for electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, Tata Power is actively introducing technology-driven, customer-centric solutions. One such innovation includes the RFID card, facilitating seamless wireless payments for EV users, enabling them to simply tap, charge, and go.
