Tata Harrier SUV Electric Version Spotted Testing Ahead of 2025 Launch

Tata Harrier EV to likely have a 60kWh battery pack, giving it a range of between 400 to 500 km

The Tata Harrier’s upcoming all-electric version was spotted during testing. Tata Motors plans to release the Harrier EV by March 31, 2025.

The electric Harrier uses the same Tata’s acti.ev architecture as the Punch EV. The new architecture combines with the Omega platform of the ICE Harrier, featuring AWD setup and cabin changes.

Expected Range

Till now, Tata Motors didn’t provide technical specifications. But the new Harrier electric SUV is likely to have different powertrain choices, including a single motor and two-wheel drive.

The prototype of the Tata Harrier EV had a rear axle-mounted electric motor. It confirms that the Harrier EV will offer an AWD setup, using electric motors on both the front and rear axles.

Moreover, the e-SUV will likely have a 60kWh battery pack. This would give it a range of between 450 to 500 km.

What About the Design?

During the test, the Harrier EV was camouflaged. Therefore, the assumptions are based on what multiple sources reported.

But if we talk about design changes, it will probably include a closed-off grille, modified bumpers, smooth door handles, updated alloy wheels, and “.ev” badges on the fenders.

However, one thing is confirmed. And that is the inclusion of convenient features and technologies like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities.

Expected Features

When it comes to features, the Harrier EV should have the same features as the diesel-powered Harrier. This includes:

  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 10.25-inch digital driver’s display
  • Dual-zone automatic air conditioning
  • Ventilated and powered front seats
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Panoramic sunroof with mood lighting
  • Gesture-enabled powered tailgate

Tata won’t compromise safety, so expect the EV to have seven airbags, a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor, electronic stability control (ESC), and ADAS.

Harrier EV should cost around Rs 30-35 lakh range (ex-showroom)

Expected Price & Rivals

Tata will put the Harrier EV in the Rs 30-35 lakh range (ex-showroom). It will most likely be available for purchase in India by 2025.

Furthermore, when in the market, the EV will compete with the Mahindra XUV.e8, Hyundai Kona Electric, and MG ZS EV.
