The renowned two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has started accepting orders across India for its CNG motorcycle. When it launched on July 5, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike was sold only in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
It seemed Bajaj Auto played it safe with its new CNG motorcycle. However, the Freedom 25 received over 30,000 inquiries, encouraging the company to expand its sales nationwide.
The CNG bike has three variants, with prices starting at ₹95,000. But right now, only the highest-priced variant at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) is available for sale. Notably, Pravin Thorat from Pune received the first-ever Bajaj Freedom 125.
Range and Efficiency of Freedom 125
According to Bajaj, the Freedom 125 can cover 100 km/kg of CNG. Also, it achieves 65 km/l in petrol mode, resulting in a total claimed range of 330 km.
Bajaj states the Freedom 125 costs half as much to run as an equivalent petrol motorcycle. That’s because CNG prices are cheaper, and the bike offers better mileage in CNG mode.
Besides being economical, the Bajaj CNG bike also emits 26.7% less CO2, making it an eco-friendlier option.
Sarang Kanade, President of Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said:
The Bajaj Freedom 125 launch has generated almost unprecedented consumer interest in this innovation. It helps deliver significant operating cost savings and a greener ride than traditional petrol bikes.
We are working hard to ensure that we meet this demand by expanding distribution rapidly across our expansive dealer network. Booking is now open across the country.
