What Does the Teaser Reveal?

Hyundai is promoting the Inster as an electric option to the renowned Casper. The EV appears to have a longer wheelbase and some design changes compared to the Casper.

However, it also includes design elements similar to the Casper. Additionally, the Inster features the new Pixel lighting system, which is also found in the Ioniq 5 in India and other recent Hyundai electric vehicles worldwide.

The Inster will keep the round headlamp setup from the Casper but with some adjustments and circular LED daytime running lights. Also, the teaser shows its fully digital driver’s display and a few other design elements.

Hyundai hasn’t shared the details of the EV’s powertrain yet, but they did confirm that the Inster will have a claimed range of 355 km. To give you an idea, the Tata Tiago EV in India also has a similar range.

Will Hyundai Inster Come to India?

Firstly, Hyundai will start making its first electric car produced in India, the Creta EV, by the end of 2024 at its Chennai plant. Additionally, they plan to make five more electric vehicles in India by 2030.

Right now, the starting price for the Hyundai Kona is Rs. 23.84 lakh (Ex-showroom). When it’s launched, the expected price of the Creta EV is at around Rs. 16 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Most electric car sales in India come from smaller electric vehicles like the Punch EV, Tiago EV, and MG’s Comet EV. So, it’s crucial for car manufacturers like Hyundai to focus on this market segment to increase sales.
