Bentley Introduces Fourth-Gen Continental GT Speed: Now with Hybrid Power

The GT Speed can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 kmph

British luxury automaker Bentley has introduced the new version of the Continental GT Speed with the GTC Speed (convertible variant). It is the fourth generation of the Continental GT and an updated version of the previous model.

Notably, the new model now has a plug-in hybrid powertrain instead of a W12 engine. This new powertrain combines a V8 engine with an electric motor. Also, Bentley made several updates to the car’s mechanical components and appearance.

Despite these changes, Bentley has kept a design that evolves from the previous model, retaining many of its styling features.

GT Speed achieves 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque from its plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Powertrain and Performance

Bentley claims that the latest Continental GT Speed is the most powerful car ever made for the road.

If we talk about numbers, GT Speed achieves 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque from its plug-in hybrid powertrain. This is significantly more powerful than the previous W12 engine, with an increase of 121 bhp and 100 Nm torque.

The new powertrain includes a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 584 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Moreover, the electric motor supplements it with an extra 188 bhp and 450 Nm of torque.

The GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 kmph.
