BYD to Unveil a Budget-friendly Variant of the Atto 3 Electric SUV in July

Starting price of BYD Atto 3 new base variant will be lower than current model, which costs Rs 33.99 lakh

The Indian Chairman and Managing Director of BYD, Ketsu Zhang, hinted on LinkedIn that the BYD Atto 3 EV might soon have a more affordable base model. The Chinese automaker hasn’t officially announced anything yet. However, various sources reveal that a new variant, which will be the cheapest in the Atto 3 series, will launch soon.

According to the LinkedIn post, BYD may unveil this new variant on July 10. Some dealerships are accepting bookings in advance for the base variant of the Atto 3, even before its expected launch in July.

What to Expect from the New Atto 3 Variant?

The BYD Atto 3 entry model might have a smaller 50 kWh battery instead of the current 60 kWh one. Also, it will still use the same 201 Bhp and 310 Nm electric motor.

It means the range of the 50-kWh model will be less than the 60-kWh model, which can go 480 km in the NEDC cycle. Moreover, the starting price of the new base variant of the Atto 3 will be lower than the current model, which costs Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Features of Current Top Model

BYD might remove some features from the new base variant. However, we have to wait for the official announcement. Nevertheless, here are some of the features in the current top-spec model of the Atto 3.
