Mini India is now taking pre-bookings for the new-gen Countryman E electric SUV. The electric vehicle was first revealed globally in September last year.
You can book the Countryman EV on Mini India’s website. The automaker will launch the Countryman in India in the next few weeks. It shares its foundation with the BMW iX1, which is already available for purchase in India.
Design and Interior
The fully electric 2025 Mini Countryman has been redesigned. What’s different? It now has a new front design with an octagonal grille and updated headlights that include new LED DRLs. Also, Mini updated the rear of the car with changes to the taillights and the tailgate.
The interior of the Mini Countryman is similar to the Mini Cooper. It also features a 9.5-inch round OLED infotainment display. Moreover, it retains toggle switches for functions like the handbrake, start button, drive mode selector, and audio controls. The traditional instrument cluster has been replaced by a minimalist head-up display (HUD) for a sleeker cabin appearance.
Performance and Range
The new Mini Countryman E will have an electric motor producing 201 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.
Another variant, the more powerful Countryman ALL4, uses a dual-motor setup with 309 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque. However, both versions come with a 66.45 kWh battery pack.
Mini claims the Countryman E will provide a range of up to 462 km, while the SE version will offer up to 433 km. It’s not clear yet which model will be available in India.
For safety, the new Mini Countryman will include Level 2 ADAS and an in-car camera with a fisheye lens. Also, there is an electrically adjustable driver’s seat that can also provide massage functions and additional features.
Price and Rivals
The new-gen model will come as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), and the expected price would be around Rs. 70 lakhs (ex-showroom). The electric SUV will be in competition with vehicles like the Kia EV6, BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and others.
