Magenta Mobility and Kuehne+Nagel have announced a collaboration to offer eco-friendly transport solutions in India. As a part of the deal, Magenta Mobility will deliver electric mobility solutions, and Kuehne+Nagel will integrate EVs into its operations.
This represents a significant development in India’s electric vehicle logistics sector. In the initial phase, Magenta Mobility will roll out electric vehicles for Kuehne+Nagel’s logistical activities throughout India, as per the press release.
For those unaware, Magenta Mobility is a comprehensive provider of electric mobility solutions. On the other hand, Kuehne+Nagel is a prominent player in global logistics services.
Further, to celebrate the partnership between the two firms, Magenta Mobility conducted a ceremonial event at its headquarters in Bangalore.
Commenting on the partnership, Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO at Magenta Mobility, said:
At Magenta Mobility, we have always prioritized safe, smart and sustainable transportation solutions towards decarbonizing logistics. We are excited and honoured by the trust showcased by Kuehne+Nagel in our capability to support them in meeting their sustainability goals.
This collaboration not only reinforces our responsibility to protect the environment but also presents a significant opportunity to contribute to the growing EV ecosystem in India.
In terms of sustainability, the e-mobility solution provider intends to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025 as part of its initiative. Moreover, if we talk about road transport, Kuehne+Nagel strive to have 60% low-emission vehicles in its fleet by 2030.
Chellan Ganesan, Road Logistics Area Manager, Asia and the Pacific countries, Kuehne+Nagel said:
We believe that embracing electric mobility is vital for transitioning to a zero-carbon future. With Magenta Mobility’s commitment and innovative approach, they are the right partner to support us in our EV logistics operations in India.
Through this partnership, we make significant strides towards achieving our Living ESG goals, a cornerstone of our Roadmap 2026. The electrifying initiative extends beyond India, exemplified by the recent launch of electric vehicles (EVs) by our Kuehne+Nagel Thailand team.
The Indian government has been actively promoting electric vehicles and the shift towards a low-carbon economy. In addition, to encourage widespread adoption of EVs, the government is implementing various measures such as:
- Tax incentive
- Production-linked incentives
- development of charging infrastructure
Both companies actively support this national commitment. However, Kuehne+Nagel achieves it by electrifying its fleet in India, thereby supporting local enterprises and promoting sustainable transportation solutions.
