MG Motor India has collaborated with IONAGE, an eMobility Service Provider to build upon the destination charging infrastructure in India. With this purpose, MG Motor and IONAGE plan to encourage intercity travel with the use of electric vehicles [EVs]. Since MG Motor already has several electric car offerings in the Indian market, the collaboration shall come as a much-needed service for its buyers and other electric car owners alike.
The partnership was officially announced with the inauguration of 10 destination charging stations across Lucknow, Trivandrum, and Cochin. In this collaboration, MG Motor will use IONAGE’s e-mobility platform to provide access to EV owners of MG Charge points. Electric vehicle owners can use the IONAGE App for accessing its charging stations, so as to plan long journeys in their EVs and the corresponding charging stops at these MG Charge facilities.
MG Charge is an industry-first initiative by any original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to equip destinations like hotels, residential societies, public locations, and corporates to propel green transportation. The strategic partnership will give a further boost to MG Motor India’s plan to install 1000 EV chargers in 1000 days across the country under its MG Charge program.
“We are delighted to partner with IONAGE in our pursuit to create a robust EV infrastructure in India.
