New Fast Charging Tech Gives 400Km Range of EV in 10 Minutes

Get ready to bid farewell to the long charging times seen in current EVs. With the rapidly advancing electric vehicle (EV) era, a groundbreaking development promises to revolutionize the EV driving experience. How? The new EV battery claims to charge for a cool 400 kilometres within 10 minutes. This leap forward has recently been promised by the works of Farasis Energy, in the form of a 6C ultra-fast charging technology.

The charging solution builds upon the company’s earlier Super Pouch Solution (SPS). It introduces a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery system capable of 6C ultra-fast charging. This means that the battery can theoretically be fully charged in one-sixth of an hour—approximately 10 minutes. In practical terms, this translates to charging from 10 per cent to 80 per cent state of charge (SOC) in just 8.55 minutes. Additionally, their lithium ternary battery system supports 5C ultra-fast charging, achieving a 10 per cent to 80 per cent charge in 10.2 minutes.

Innovative Design Enhancements

As reported by CnEV Post the key to this capability lies in Farasis’s innovative design. The company has focused on improving heat dissipation—a critical factor in fast charging. Their Super Pouch Solution (SPS) structural design significantly enhances the heat dissipation area, increasing it by 4.8 times for 6C LFP batteries and four times for 5C ternary batteries. This design effectively manages the heat generated during high-speed charging, keeping the batteries within a safe temperature range.

Farasis Energy’s advancements are particularly notable for LFP batteries. These batteries are gaining popularity due to their lower cost and improved safety. The ability to achieve 6C charging with LFP technology could make electric vehicles even more appealing to consumers. This development brings us closer to a future where charging an electric car is as quick and convenient as filling up a gas tank.

What to Expect

As the EV industry continues to evolve, Farasis Energy’s new technology represents a significant milestone. This innovation not only addresses one of the primary concerns of potential EV buyers but also sets a new benchmark for the industry. With ongoing advancements and collaborations, the dream of charging 400 kilometres in just a few minutes is becoming an attainable reality. Once it becomes the new norm, the shift towards sustainable transportation is sure to skyrocket.
