Mercedes-Benz today, unveiled a one-of-its-kind electric concept show car- Project MAYBACH Virgil Abloh, at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. The futuristic concept show car is designed by Late Virgil Abloh and Gorden Wagener reimagining responsible vision of future design. Note that the luxury electric car has been produced using complete creative freedom and is untethered by production requirements.

While designing the Project MAYBACH Virgil Abloh, the design teams at Mercedes-Benz conceptualized a vision of future electric travel and created a unique design from the ground up. The EV takes inspiration from the great outdoors and recontextualizes a traditionally urban brand within a distinctly off-road environment. The 2-seater, battery-electric off-road coupé combines huge Gran Turismo proportions, large off-road wheels, and distinctive attachments.

  • With 6 meters of length and a 2-seat configuration, the Project MAYBACH combines Grand Tourer proportions with rugged off-road tyres.

Project MAYBACH

Project MAYBACH was first launched during Miami Art Week on December 1, 2021. It is the second collaboration between Wagener and Abloh. This electric car aims to showcase unparalleled craftsmanship and detail, inspired by the idea of rediscovering the great outdoors. It features innovative elements such as a dashboard compass, blending exploration with high-end functionality.

Both Late Virgil Abloh and Gorden Wagener prioritized a forward-thinking approach to design the EV. For instance, the show car features solar cells hidden under its transparent hood, enhancing the range. Mercedes-Benz’s Project Maybach boasts a one-of-a-kind design, with every single detail engineered from scratch. Drawing inspiration from outdoor and adapting a traditionally urban brand for a unique off-road setting, the 2-seater battery-electric off-road coupé combines huge Gran Turismo proportions, large off-road wheels, and distinctive attachments.

The display of Project MAYBACH aims to offer a unique opportunity to honor Late Virgil Abloh’s legacy, by presenting one of his final projects to the discerning Indian audience.
