Zaheer Iqbal recently got married to Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. But what caught the eye of everyone is that he gave Sinha a BMW i7 electric sedan as a gift for their wedding on June 23. If you are unaware, the EV is worth more than Rs 2 crore.
A viral video on social media shows the newly married couple arriving at a restaurant in their luxurious BMW for their reception. According to various media reports, Zaheer gave Sonakshi the BMW i7 electric sedan as a gift, which cost more than Rs 2 crore. This car is the most expensive electric sedan sold by BMW in India and is the electric version of their top 7-Series sedan.
But what’s worth noting is that currently many celebrities are becoming environmental conscious and choosing sustainable options like electric cars. Now, let’s talk more about the BMW luxurious electric car.
The Design
BMW i7 electric has a design that closely resembles the G70 generation of the 7-Series. Moreover, it shares its platform with several other EVs in BMW’s lineup. Due to its electric nature, the car features blue accents in various parts, distinguishing it from the traditional ICE version.
If we talk about the front of the car, it has a large kidney grille that lights up. Also, there is an ‘i’ badge on the grille, which would obviously be missing in the regular version. Enhancing the side profile are the 21-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on all four wheels. It comes with ADAS features, and the video shows where sensors, radars, and cameras are located.
Interestingly, you can open and close the sedan’s doors automatically with the touch of a button.
Interior and Features
The BMW i7 has a curved display for infotainment and the instrument cluster. Also, it features a 31.3-inch 8K cinema screen on the car’s roof that can be folded down.
The rear doors have a 5.5-inch touchscreen for managing infotainment, climate control, and seat settings.
Additionally, the electric sedan offers:

- Electronically adjusted Seats with memory and massage capabilities
Powertrain
The BMW i7 comes in a single variant called the i7 xDrive 60. It produces an impressive 540 horsepower and 745Nm of torque. Also, the car has two electric motors, one at the front axle and another at the rear.
The 101.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack offers a range between 590 km and 625 km on a single charge. The electric sedan supports both AC and DC fast charging. With a 195 kW DC charger, you can charge the EV from 10% to 80% around half an hour.
