Tata Motors has officially stated that the upcoming Curvv SUV coupe will launch on August 7, 2024. The automaker will offer both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) versions in India. While there is no confirmation on pricing details, Tata will disclose the EV before the ICE variant.
However, before the debut of the SUV, observers have sighted the ICE-powered Curvv in its final testing phase. This version showcases identical 5-spoke floral-patterned alloy wheels as seen on the concept displayed at the Auto Expo last year.
It’s too soon to speculate, but the top-spec versions might have 17-inch wheels, while the lower-spec ones could feature 16-inch wheels. In addition, the SUV coupe features flush-fitting door handles, marking a first for any Tata vehicle.
Furthermore, the vehicle will have an expanded grille, a sloping roofline, split LED headlights, an extended roof spoiler, angular wheel arches, and interconnected LED DRLs and taillights.

- Ventilated front seats

In terms of safety features, the SUV coupe may come equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, three-point seatbelts, sensors for parking both at the front and rear and ADAS functionalities such as autonomous braking and lane keep assistance.
What is the Range of Tata EV Curvv?
The ICE variant of the Tata Curvv is likely to feature engine options similar to those available in the Nexon. It includes a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. Also, a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine produces 113bhp and 260Nm of torque. Gearbox options will likely include a 6-speed AMT, a 6-speed manual transmission, or a 7-speed DCT.
Meanwhile, the Curvv EV will become Tata’s second vehicle to use the Acti.ev platform. Tata Motors has not yet disclosed any specifics about the EV’s powertrain. However, it might come with both single and dual-motor configurations and provide a range exceeding 500 km.
How Much Does Tata Curvv Cost?
The anticipated ex-showroom price range for the ICE-powered Curvv is expected to be from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. On the other hand, the EV might be available for Rs 16-20 lakh. Upon their release, both versions of the Tata Curvv will join the mid-sized SUV segment. It will compete directly with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Volkswagen Taigun.
