TVS Motor Company’s electric race bike, the Apache RTE, reached a top speed of 200 km/h, creating a milestone in Indian motorsports. This happened during the first round of the TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC).

The e-OMC is the electric version of the annual One Make Championship, which usually features the petrol-powered TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The company made the Apache RTE specifically for the e-OMC to demonstrate the latest advancements in electric motorcycle power and performance.

The bike uses a highly efficient liquid-cooled motor and an advanced chemistry battery pack. Furthermore, it has the highest power-to-weight ratio compared to others in its class. The custom battery management system includes race-specific algorithms to ensure the bike performs at its best and stays safe.

TVS has put great effort into creating a machine that can reach such high speeds. The Apache RTE includes:

  • A single reduction chain drive
  • Custom Ohlins suspension
  • Brembo braking system with a 320mm front disc
  • Carbon fibre wheels fitted with Pirelli Super Corsa tires.

Moreover, the aerodynamic carbon fiber fairing reduces drag, enabling the bike to move through the air very quickly.

The two-wheeler Indian company selected Eight talented riders to compete in the first season. They pushed the Apache RTE to its maximum capabilities on the racetrack. Sarthak Chavan won Round 1, with Chirant V and Alwin Sundar following closely behind. All three riders experienced the excitement of reaching speeds over 200 km/h.

The TVS Racing e-OMC is a testament to our commitment to revolutionizing the racing ecosystem and pushing the limits of electric motorcycle technology.
Achieving a top speed of 200 km/h in the very first round demonstrates the incredible potential of electric racing and sets a new benchmark for performance.

The e-OMC races take place alongside the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). Spectators can enjoy these races at famous tracks such as the Madras Motor Race Track, Kari Motor Speedway, and Buddh International Circuit.
