Ola Electric’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal recently took to social media to share a video of him testing the upcoming electric bike, which from the design seems to be either Roadster or Adventure model. Aggarwal is always keen on sharing his electric scooter testing videos with his audience on social media. But this time, it was an electric motorcycle, which Ola is looking to unveil soon. Also, last week he shared a picture of a new product, which appears to be an electric motorcycle, with a caption “Working on something.”
Aggarwal shared this video on social media platform X, a day before announcing the launch of its first electric bike in the first six months of 2025 alongside Ola’s recent IPO. The details of its upcoming electric bike are still under wraps, but Ola will unveil more information about it on August 15.
Last year, on the same day, Ola Electric presented the concept variants of four e-bikes, all built on a single platform. Diamondhead, the e-bike showcased recently, will likely be Ola’s first electric super sports bike to launch in the first half of next year.
Ola Aiming to Heat Up the E-bike Segment in India
You probably know Ola Electric’s domination in the electric scooter segment with models like the S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1X. But now, the Ola wants to expand its two-wheeler lineup beyond scooters. The company will look to deliver a sleek, high-performance electric bike at a reasonable cost to attract the masses, just like it did with its electric scooter.
Furthermore, Aggarwal revealed Ola Electric will roll out bikes with batteries developed in-house. Interestingly, they won’t be just other EV batteries but the biggest in an Indian electric motorcycle.
Moreover, Ola will try to take advantage of the limited competition in the segment. Currently, there are only a few players like Oben, Revolt Motors, and Tork Motor offering electric motorcycles in India. Also, rumours are that Royal Enfield is working on an electric bike, Him-E, which can be a game-changer given the automaker’s popularity in the country.
While talking about the company’s future plans, the CEO mentioned electric cars, which are not on their immediate agenda. However, don’t be surprised if Bhavish Aggarwal soon shares a video of him testing the Ola electric car.
The Indian EV market, while growing, has witnessed a slump recently. But Aggarwal claims the industry still has massive potential. Even the government is encouraging manufacturers and consumers to adopt electric vehicles, whether it’s extending EMPS subsidies or the upcoming FAME 3 scheme. Maybe that’s the reason Ola is hopping into the new e-bike trend.
