BMW Motorrad India has started accepting advance orders for its first electric scooter, the BMW CE 04. BMW will launch the CE 04 on July 24, and it will likely become the costliest e-scooter in the country, priced at around Rs. 10 lakhs.
The launch will coincide with the eighth-generation 5 Series sedan, Mini Cooper S and Countryman E models. The German automaker first unveiled the CE 04 in India in December 2022. It marked BMW’s entry into the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
Dimensions of the BMW e-scooter
Initially showcased as a concept in 2020, the CE 04 is available in global markets. The maxi-style scooter highlights a sleek, low-profile design, a flat bench-style seat, sharp bodywork and full LED lighting. The electric scooter measures 2,285 mm x 855mm x 1150mm (LxBxH). The seat is 780 mm in height but can extend to 800 mm with BMW’s optional comfort seat.
What is the Range of the BMW CE 04?
The BMW CE 04 features an 8.9 kWh battery, providing a range of 130 km on one full charge. It delivers a maximum power output of about 41 bhp and a peak torque of 62 Nm, with an electronically restricted top speed of 120 kmph. The scooter features three riding modes that include traction control and ABS.
Features and Specifications of the BMW e-scooter
The CE 04 has a 10.25-inch TFT color display, offering integrated navigation, connectivity, and displays for performance metrics, range, and charging duration. Moreover, it comes with a Type-C charging port and an electronic reverse function. The electric scooter offers various optional features for personalized customization.
Regarding its mechanical components, the CE 04 uses a steel double-loop frame. Additionally, it has a front single-bridge telescopic fork and a rear single-sided swingarm supported directly by the suspension. Also, the e-scooter rides on 15-inch wheels and has 265 mm disc brakes at both the front and rear.
What is the Price of BMW CE 04 in India?
BMW Motorrad India currently sells the C400 GT, with a price tag of Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The German automaker will likely price the CE 04 around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and sell it alongside the C400 GT in India’s product lineup.
