Ola Electric has made significant changes to its S1 X electric scooter. They’ve added features that let the scooter get updates over the air, meaning it can automatically receive software upgrades without needing to go to a service center. This makes it easy for customers to keep their scooters updated with the latest features.
What are the New Updates?
The new Vacation Mode is a noteworthy feature because it allows the scooter to go into a deep sleep mode when not used for a long time. This helps to save battery life during extended periods of inactivity.
Also, Ola has introduced advanced regenerative braking (regen), which charges the scooter’s battery while slowing down.
Additionally, the S1 X now has features like “find my scooter,” ride statistics, and energy insights, which make it more functional and convenient for users.
Battery Options
The S1 X comes with a 2-kWh battery pack that provides a certified range of 91 km when fully charged. It takes about 7.4 hours to charge the battery completely. This version of the scooter sprints from 0 to 40 kmph in 4.1 seconds and has a 6-kW peak power output from its electric motor.
Moreover, the scooter offers three riding modes – Eco, Normal, and Sports. Also, it can achieve a maximum speed of 85 kmph. The S1 X has a 3.5-inch LCD screen instead of a touchscreen and uses a physical key.
There is not much difference between the 3-kWh version and the 2-kWh model as they offer charging time, riding modes, and features. However, it improves on acceleration time, top speed, and range. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds, has a top speed of 90 kmph, and claims a range of 151 km on a single charge.
The 4-kWh version of the scooter has the identical specifications as the previous models. However, if you want more range, this version offers a claimed range of 190 km on a single charge.
Pricing
The updated S1 X started deliveries in May. As mentioned earlier, the scooter comes with three battery pack choices: 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh. The prices for these models are ₹74,999 for the 2-kWh version, ₹84,999 for the 3-kWh version, and ₹99,999 for the 4-kWh version (ex-showroom).
