Kalki 2898 AD: Meet Bujji, the AI-powered Vehicle with a Batmobile Vibe

Discover Bujji from Kalki 2898 AD movie, an AI-powered marvel boasting 126 bhp, 9,800 Nm torque

The current cinema is not just about acting, screenplay, and editing but also about adding new and exciting elements. Some prominent filmmakers use vehicles to add excitement to their movies, as seen in films like Transformers, Mad Max, and Fast and Furious. However, it’s the futuristic vehicles depicted in sci-fi movies that attract a lot of attention.

A recently released Indian epic sci-fi movie, Kalki 2898 AD, continues this trend. It features a key character, an AI-powered electric car called Bujji.

Bujji, voiced by Keerthy Suresh, is Bhairava’s (Prabhas) trusted companion in the film. If you’ll notice carefully, the design of the futuristic vehicle featured in the movie resembles that of the Batmobile from Batman movies. Moreover, it has a transparent canopy on the cockpit, which is similar to the design of fighter aircraft.

Bujji has gained so much attention that Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra, couldn’t resist taking it out for a ride.

Details of Prabhas’ New Ride – Bujji

Firstly, we’ll talk about the numbers. Bujji’s twin electric motors power its rear wheels, delivering 126 bhp (94 kW) and an astonishing 9,800 Nm of torque.

At its core, Bujji has a 47-kWh battery pack and incorporates battery swapping technology. Jayem Automotives reports that the vehicle can achieve a top speed of 45 km/h, which may not seem enough.

However, it’s the size of the vehicle which grabs the attention. According to reports, Bujji measures 6,075 mm long, 3,380 mm wide, and 2,186 mm tall. This makes the EV longer than a Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class limousine by over 500 mm. Furthermore, it makes the car as wide as two Toyota Fortuner and taller than a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Now, let’s focus on the wheels. The futuristic vehicle has three enormous tyres: two at the front and a spherical one at the rear. Also, it features a stunning-looking all-glass dome.

Bujji’s muscular front tyres, measuring 34.5 inches and manufactured by Ceat, add to its striking appearance. Moreover, the automaker imported these massive alloy wheels from abroad.

The Origin of Bujji

Mahindra Research Valley and Jayem Automotives played a significant role in conceptualizing, designing, and engineering Bujj.  Moreover, it’s Mahindra that supplied the twin electric motors powering the futuristic vehicle.

Thanks to their collaborative efforts, the AI-powered electric car became an integral part of the movie’s visually striking narrative.
