Tesla Cybertruck Joins Dubai Police Elite Fleet: Eco-Friendly Policing

With 845bhp, Cyberbeast version goes from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 sec and reaches a top speed of 209 km/h

The Dubai Police now have a Tesla Cybertruck in their patrol fleet, adding to their luxury vehicles. The Cybertruck was first teased in green and white colors back in 2019. But recently, Dubai Police shared images of the Tesla Cybertruck in its official green and white colors. The electric truck escorted Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The Cybertruck led the way as the pilot vehicle ahead of the Mercedes-AMG G63.

Some people might find it normal, especially considering that Dubai Police already own one of the world’s fastest and most impressive fleets, which includes cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, Ferrari FF, Bugatti Veyron, and Lamborghini Aventador.

Also, the Cybertruck demonstrates the city’s commitment to adopting new environmentally sustainable methods and embracing advanced technology. However, the Cybertruck is not the first all-electric vehicle to join the police force, as Dubai Police recently acquired the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580.

About the Cybertuck

The Cybertruck is built with a durable stainless steel body shell to minimize damage in accidents. Reports indicate that the police vehicle will have bulletproof windows.

The Cybertruck can tow nearly 5,000 kg and has a driving range of around 550 km. The electric truck comes in three models: Cyberbeast, All-Wheel-Drive, and Rear-Wheel-Drive.

  • The Cyberbeast version accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 209 kmph. It has 845 horsepower and almost 14,000 Nm of torque, which allows it to tow heavy loads.

  • The All-Wheel-Drive variant has slightly lower performance with 600 horsepower but achieves the maximum 550 km of driving range.

  • The Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) version has a driving range of 400 km and can tow up to 3,400 kg. Tesla plans to release it in 2025.

According to the Tesla website, the price of the Cybertruck in the USA ranges from Rs 48 lakh to Rs 81 lakh.

Why the Electric Truck?

The Dubai Police are known for their role as law enforcers and for collecting luxury cars. In a city like Dubai, one expects police to have a fleet of supercars to chase down speeding offenders.

However, catching criminals is not the primary purpose of Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars. The original intention behind these cars is to attract tourists. Officials have stated that these vehicles will not be used for high-speed pursuits but for patrolling popular tourist areas like Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Moreover, the fleet also acts as a form of public relations during car expos, such as the Dubai International Motor Show, which the city frequently hosts.
